Westering is a beautifully maintained 60ft narrowboat, perfect as a liveaboard or home-from-home. 2+2 berths (and space for a travel cot if desired!). Recent Boat Safety Certificate valid until 29/06/2028. Regularly serviced, powerful and reliable Isuzu 4 cylinder diesel engine. Fitted with Travel Power (so the engine can generate 240 volts - very handy for running the washing machine whilst cruising). Last blacked in 2021, so you may wish to get this done if you have a survey. The cabin is at the stern, fitted with double bed with lots of storage beneath it, overhead cupboards, a wardrobe, and two sets of drawers. The walk through bathroom has a full sized sink, washing machine, shower, and Thetford Porta Potti Excellence (new in 2024) with spare cassette. We removed the original pump out toilet system in 2017 but a new one could easily be installed if desired. The rest of the boat is open-plan and consists of large saloon, galley and dinette. The saloon offers a flexible living space (we have managed a piano, a small sofa, and a cot), with built-in bookshelves and is fitted with a Morso Squirrel multifuel (coal & wood) stove. The galley has large cupboards, gas oven (four hobs) and 12 Volt fridge. The dinette gives ample dining/desk space and doubles up as a comfortable spare double bed. There is storage in the dinette and an additional wardrobe next to it. Spacious semi-trad stern is perfect for cruising with family or friends and contains two lockers, one for batteries, the other for gas canisters. The gas locker can be stood upon when steering, giving a better view from higher up! Bow deck is a lovely place to sit and has a cratch cover which also makes it a good boot room, woodstore and place to dry laundry. There is additional storage in the front locker, freshly painted in 2022. Fitted with galvanic isolator, gas bubble tester, Eberspacher heating system connected to radiators throughout the boat, and Shurflow Aqua King II water pump new in 2024. Insulation is isowool. Having lived aboard for 7 years, the final 2 with our baby, we are sad to be selling but hope this lovely boat will make some new owners very happy. Westering has travelled over the past seven years from Sharpness in the South West to Brandon in East Anglia, from Diggle in the North West to Godalming in the South East, including three trips on the Manchester Ship Canal - she's the perfect boat for those looking for life and adventure aboard a practical, comfortable vessel. Currently near Gayton Junction on the Grand Union Canal, so ideally located for a survey at several nearby marinas if you wished.
