Leisure 23SL “Sapphire” – a well-kept 1983 twin-keeler that makes simple coastal cruising stress-free. She has a bright, practical cabin, a deep, secure cockpit with sprayhood and cushions, and a straightforward layout that encourages spontaneous sails. Bilge keels mean easy drying and shallow-water exploration, while her compact size keeps ownership costs sensible. Rigging and sails: Mainsail and furling genoa. Running rigging renewed 2024. Standing rigging in good order with modern fittings. Lewmar single-speed winches. Navigation and helm: Silva 70P compass. NASA Clipper Duet (speed/depth/log). Raymarine ST1000+ tiller-pilot. Generous safety inventory: 3 lifejackets. 3 fire extinguishers. A manual bilge pump. A horseshoe MOB buoy with self-igniting light. Flares & smoke signals. Softwood bungs, etc. Also included: 2 anchors, 3 waterproof cockpit cushions. Full set of fenders and mooring lines with spares. 2 small solar panels. A large dinghy with paddles. Yamaha 8 hp petrol outboard. Sapphire is set up for uncomplicated sailing. Below, the saloon is clean, with good light and a large, welcoming table that seats four and converts to a double berth. A practical galley and a single berth that doubles as stowage are to port and aft. Forward is a comfortable V-berth with stowage and a compact head. Electrics are deliberately kept simple: two small solar panels keep a Numax LV22MF 75 Ah leisure battery topped up, which powers a fixed-mount radio, LED interior lighting, and 2 × USB-C charging ports for phone / tablet / etc. A shore-power hook-up is also included. Known issues: navigation lights do not work, the depth gauge produces inaccurate reading, sails are serviceable but aged, and she will need antifouling before launch. Currently stored ashore at Ardmaleish, Isle of Bute, she is a clean, straightforward 23-footer with the right gear and honest disclosures. A mooring buoy in Port Bannatyne can also be included in the sale as a free extra, although it is advertised elsewhere and may not be available for long.
