Orkney Dory 14’ (4.24 metre) with 30hp 2-stroke long-shaft Tohatsu outboard motor and excellent galvanised road trailer. The Orkney Dory is a very stable boat, many having been used for safety roles. They can carry up 6 people. This one dates from 1994. The boat is ashore on her trailer, and has just had the topsides repainted in Hempel Radiant Red. If you plan to keep her afloat, she’ll need re-antifouling, otherwise just use her as she is. The interior is very tidy in the original gel coat. There are two bench seats (removable cushions & backrest) and further seating in the bow over the storage locker. She has stainless grab grails, steering console with stainless wheel and Tohatsu engine remotes providing key start, warm-up, forward-neutral-reverse with a safety lanyard. The hull is cathedral pattern with a step to assist planing. There’s a tough rubber rubbing strake around the boat. Open the throttle and the boat will plane at 19-20 knots almost instantly and top-out at around 24 knots. The motor is a 2006 Tohatsu M30A4 30hp long-shaft 2-stroke with electric start and remotes to the centre console. It has had a new impeller, spark plugs, genuine Tohatsu ignition coil & leads and a carburettor service kit fitted. The motor uses pre-mixed 50:1 and I always use E5 petrol. Owners manual and service manual in digital format supplied. The boat has an excellent inventory: - Two varnished Lahna paddles & rowlocks. - LED navigation light on the bow (connected) & stern light (to be connected) - Recent Seaflow bilge pump with integral float connected to automatic/off/manual switch. - New 40AH battery (2025) with 3-year guarantee. - New battery box. - 10 watt solar panel for trickle charging the battery. - Fuel line plus two 25 litre genuine Tohatsu remote fuel tanks give excellent range. - Unused 2 kg Lewmar anchor with chain & warp, stored in the forward locker, ready for use. - Six fenders, 3 each side, which just flip inboard when not required. - New telescopic boathook clipped ready to use. - Centre console has GPS speedometer 0 - 30 knots with nautical miles odometer, switches for navigation lights and speedometer plus USB outlet & digital voltmeter. Input socket for solar panel. - Stainless steel auxiliary outboard bracket (outboard not included). - A good assortment of mooring lines. - Winter all-over cover & supports to prevent puddling. - Summer cover for use on a mooring. This keeps the sun & seagulls off. Rain runs off to the back of the boat and is automatically pumped overboard. - Engine tool kit, flush muffs and a variety of spares and maintenance items. The unbraked, galvanised 2011 Snipe trailer is sized to take the boat. It has a jockey wheel, a winch for launching & retrieving, and bunks for support. Arms at the rear extend to take a lighting board and retract for launching. Recent new wheels & tyres, plus a serviceable spare. New tow-ball lock included.
