Description
Long In The Tooth is simple but charming 57’ narrowboat built in 2001 by John Evans. She has been well looked after and benefits from a hull survey in March 2024 (available in the office for viewing), she was last blacked in March 2024 (with 4 new anodes), the paintwork is in reasonable condition and she is clean and tidy inside & out. The gas bottles are in the bow locker and the well deck is over the integral 900 litre water tank. At the front of the well deck is the diesel tank for the diesel stove in the saloon, and this doubles up as a bench to sit on. Glazed front doors lead into the 13’ saloon. This is open plan and has a two seater sofa, the diesel Bubble stove and a cupboard. There would be room in here for a sofabed or armchairs if preferred. The galley is 7’2” and the utilities comprise of a 12v fridge (with icebox), a four burner gas hob (new 2024), a gas oven & grill and a stainless sink with drainer. There are cupboards for storage and a side hatch aft of the galley adds light and air. The dinette area is next and is in its own cabin making for a nice separate dining or relaxing area. This converts into a spare double bed and has storage underneath, and cupboards above each end offering further storage options. The bathroom is off corridor with a sliding door. The loo is a Thetford cassette (with spare cassette), there is a counter-sunk ceramic basin and a tiled shower cubicle with bi-fold door. Some linen shelves sit in between the shower and the cabin side. The bedroom follows and the fixed double bed measures 6’3”x4’. There is storage under all of it, and cupboards over the head end of the bed. At the foot of the bed is a double wardrobe. The engine room is at the stern. The engine, serviced in March 2026, is a ThornycroftT105V 42hp with a PRM 150 gearbox. Hot water is heated by the engine or an immersion heater (when on landline). 12v power is from the two 110ah batteries (but there is room for four) and 230v is from the Sterling 1600w inverter or landline hook up. There are 790w of solar. All the lights are LED. She is a straightforward and honest boat and will make a lovely home or holiday boat.
