Description
Westerly Centaur 26 twin bilge keel cruising yacht with Beta diesel engine, AIS transceiver and autopilot. Located Burnham Yacht Harbour with possible berth transfer. Well presented Westerly, designed by Laurent Giles and widely regarded as one of the most capable small cruising yachts ever built. The twin bilge keels make her ideal for drying moorings and shallow estuaries, perfect for East Coast sailing and exploring tidal harbours. The boat is well equipped for cruising and comes with a large inventory of useful equipment, making it a ready-to-sail package. The boat benefits from a Beta BD722 20hp diesel engine installed in 2003, a reliable and well regarded upgrade from the original engines fitted to many Westerly Centaurs. The engine has approximately 1349 hours, has just been serviced with new oil and filters, and runs well. A full spare service kit including belts, filters and anodes is included with the boat. The yacht also benefits from the additional Westerly keel bolt reinforcement upgrade, adding extra keel bolts and backing plates to strengthen the bilge keel attachment. The boat is currently moored at Burnham Yacht Harbour Marina, on one of the smaller berths which can be difficult to obtain. The berth may be transferable to the new owner subject to agreement with the marina and payment of the annual mooring fees, which could be a significant advantage for anyone looking to keep a boat in Burnham-on-Crouch. I have removed most of the old foam backing and cleaned the fibreglass behind it. The original material has been temporarily refitted so the cabin remains usable, however this was only intended as a temporary solution and is not particularly tidy. Replacing the headliner material with new is a straightforward job and was on my list of winter projects but has not yet been completed, giving the next owner the opportunity to finish it to their preferred standard.
