This Ohlson Parant 25 is a rare find, featuring a factory-customised shallow draught keel. Originally commissioned specifically to navigate the tricky shallows of Poole Harbour, she offers the sturdy, seaworthy performance Einar Ohlson is known for, but with the freedom to explore creeks and moorings that other yachts simply can't reach. Originally the hull was laid down in 1985 and was finished in 1990 where it was shipped to Poole, During its time here its original 1.5m keel was prone to run aground due to Poole's shallows. It's in this first year she was sent back to Sweden to have her keel shortened and rig adjusted accordingly. This involved removing .3m of iron keel and adjusting weight using a lead boot which can allow her to stand with no support on a beech despite this she does come with adjustable legs just in case. Whilst there her rudder was adapted to feature a skeg and rudder was lengthened to balance. After her first 2 owner in Poole harbour she was sailed to Porthcawl by an ex pilot boat skipper and spent 7 years with him until in 2023 she moved into current ownership. She has been based in Cardiff and Lydney Harbour and has demonstrated her Ohlson prestige at Bristol Channel Yachting Association rallies and winning in best dressed boat in 2024.For clarity their rarity stems from the Ohlson brother who from 1952 to 1968 Won a medal in every 5.5m class Olympics. They were often overshadowed by their larger sister the Ohlson 38 which follows similar design traits and retains the seaworthy characters known in all Ohlson designs.
