The Dormouse is a cruiser stern narrowboat measuring just under 50ft, a length well suited to navigating the majority of the canal and river system. Propulsion is provided by a Beta Marine 38hp diesel engine with PRM 150 hydraulic gearbox. The hull sides and base were blacked in April 2026. She is in a traditional layout, with bunks in the aft cabin, a permanent double berth, and the saloon at the fore, featuring L-shaped seating with dining table, which can also convert to an additional double berth. The galley includes gas cooking and an undercounter fridge, while the bathroom is fitted with a shower over bath, washbasin, and pump-out toilet. Onboard systems are simple, with 230V power supplied by a Mastervolt 2kW inverter and separate Victron 30A charger. Heating is provided by a solid fuel stove, with hot water supplied via the engine.
