Description

///Fully equipped and ready to go/// Since being owned by us Veruscka has been constantly upgraded and maintained without a thought that we would ever sell. This includes new Raymarine instruments and IP rated onboard PC (’22) all sea cocks replaced with Tru-Design composites (’22), new Tek-Tanks water tank and Furuno FA70 AIS transponder (’23), new Harken mainsheet and traveller and new teak cockpit (’25) new Dyneema main halyard (’25) The Volvo 20hp engine is very reliable, and the standing rigging is just 5 years old. MCA coded for 5 persons to Cat 2 (60 miles from safe haven), the sale includes all coding safety equipment, including an in-date life raft on custom bracket, 7x automatic lifejackets and inflatable dinghy. ///General Comments/// After sailing Veruscka for a few thousand miles over the last 5 years, I have found it to be a brilliant little boat. We have set it up really well for quite ambitious sailing, and I’d happily take it on some big multiday trips. With the addition of another water tank, I wouldn’t hesitate to take Veruscka across to the Caribbean. It is very close-winded, although it settles into a 15- to 20-degree heel. Downwind Veruscka picks up and will steadily sail at over its theoretical hull speed, yet feels reassuringly predictable doing so. I’ve regularly sailed this little boat in 4-5m seas, and it’s been excellent, a great design with some considerable advantages over many more modern vessels. This is an amazingly well-equipped first boat, or perhaps a good way of downsizing for a more experienced sailor. Or for anybody urgently wanting to go on some adventures—go small—go now! ///Engine/// The Volvo MD2020 with a sail drive was installed in the 1990s. This has been very reliable and efficient. It was last fully serviced in October 2025. Saildrive seal was replaced in 2020 (receipt provided), so its next service interval is 2027. The fuel tank is made of aluminium and features a sighting gauge, allowing you to see the level once it is below two-thirds full. The tank was taken out and steam cleaned in June 2023. A new large Racor fuel filter with a water separator was also fitted at this time. ///Rigging/// The mast and boom were replaced around 2005. Standing rigging was entirely replaced in 2019. The last rigging inspection certificate was in August 2024. In September ’25, we installed a 10mm Dyneema main halyard. All other running rigging is serviceable. Winches were stripped down, service and drums re-chromed in 2022. ///Anchoring/// Manual windlass – operated with a winch handle. This works well for vessels of this size. The lightweight Fortress Kedge Anchor is kept in the anchor locker on the foredeck, and a heavier 15kg Plough anchor is in the cockpit locker for anchoring in stronger winds. ///Hull/// Full osmosis treatment was completed in 2010. Hull was out of the water in June ‘25 and isn’t showing any signs of blistering. Hull has conventional ablating anti-foul that will need recoating in 2026. Topsides were painted white in 2015, and this coating is looking tired, with numerous superficial scratches. This has the original white gelcoat under it, so it doesn’t look too bad. However, a repaint would probably be the next job I would get done if I weren’t selling. ///Sails/// Fully battened mainsail: in used but serviceable condition 120% Genoa on Facnor furler: in used but serviceable condition. New UV strip 2024. Symmetrical Spinnaker: in used but serviceable condition - no spinnaker pole though Storm Sail: New (2023) and unused Two main sail covers will be provided: one with www.sea.school will have the text removed. There is also a stack pack. ///Electronics/// Raymarine ST50+ Depth, Speed and Wind, Panasonic Toughbook PC permanently mounted at the chart table. This is currently running Max Sea Pro software, but the license cannot transfer with the vessel, so the new owner will have to choose what navigation programme they wish to use. Seatalk Instruments and PC talk via an Actisense multiplexer. Icom Radio antenna and cable (Aircell 7). All the above were installed in 2022 and are working very well. In 2023, a Furuno AIS transponder was fitted; AIS data is fed to the PC via the multiplexer. ///Galley/// Force 10 2-burner cooker with oven, all with pezo igniters. The sink features a hand pump for fresh water and a foot pump for seawater. Cool box only – no fridge. ///Interior/// The cabin floor was replaced in 2020 and is still looking very fresh. Bulkheads in the saloon were painted white in 2022. The ceiling is covered in soft vinyl that looks tired in places. Ideally, this would be removed and replaced, or covering over may be an option. ///Safety Equipment/// Life raft on a custom cradle on the pushpit 7 x Suffolk Safety Auto life-jackets Flares – Expiry December 2025 2-person inflatable dinghy Emergency VHF aerial
