Watusi 2 is a well maintained and excellently equipped S& S 44, steel, ocean ready cruising yacht, fully equipped to sail around the world. Just pack your suit case jump on board and Go! The current owners had her all prepared and ready for an Indian Ocean crossing in 2023 and a circumnavigation, however, decided to settle in Thailand and it's now time to sell their beautiful S& S 44. In 2021 whilst in Brisbane, Australia, they had all the standing and running rigging replaced, they installed 600 amps of house batteries, a new Enerdrive 2400 watt inverter and battery charger and 200 amps of engine batteries. There is 460 watts of solar panels fitted above the davits, they installed a rainman watermaker with 90 litres of fresh drinking water made every hour, and a new Honda GU 22 generator. The engine was reconditioned before they departed. So she is totally equipped for off grid blue water long distance sailing. In January 2023, Watusi 2 was hauled out in Malaysia, and the rudder and propeller shaft were removed to replace all cutlass bearings, drive shaft bearings, and the rudder bearings and stainless pins. New cockpit cushions were made, a new sail bag for the main and a new dodger for the cockpit. The hull was water blasted, sanded and had 4 coats of antifoul applied. The owners also, in preparation for their long passages ahead, installed a new 9" raymarine chart plotter with new 3d imaging transducer, and a new Raymarine Radar. A new Yamaha 9.9 hp motor was also bought is 2023 to power the 2.7 meter AB rib tender. More recently, in 2025, the boat was on the hardstand in Rebak Marina, where the non-skid deck areas were re-painted, and fresh antifoul was applied. She was only re-launched in April 2025. The owners have just left to head back to there home base in Thailand, leaving Watusi 2 here in Rebak Marina, and in a ready to go condition.
