Scaremmeg is a 49’ 11” charming traditional stern narrowboat built in 2004 by JD Narrowboats and fitted out by PT Boatfitters. She has been in the same hands for nearly 20 years and has been really well looked after, although has not been used much at all over the last couple of years. The paintwork is in good condition, and she was last blacked in September 2024. The engine was last serviced in July 2024 (hardly used since). The well deck is covered by a cratch cover and the 600 litre stainless steel watertank is underneath. There are bench seats / lockers either side. Steps lead through glazed front doors into the saloon. This is 12’9” long and has an armchair, a large L shaped couch (with single or double demountable tables) and converts into a spare double berth. There is storage under. There are a couple of shelving units, and a corner cupboard with a JVC CD / radio. Opposite that is the Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove. The galley has a side hatch with frosted glass. The utillites consist of a four burner gas hob, an eye level oven & grill, a 12v fridge with icebox and a stainless steel sink. There are plenty of storage options. The bathroom is next. The loo is a Thetford cassette, the wash basin is ceramic and there is a shower over the bath with a folding glass screen. A couple of cupboards offer storage space. The bedroom has a crossbed which measures 6’1”x4’6”. There is storage under and cupboards over. At the aft end of the cabin is a large wardrobe and either side of the bed are lockers. Steps lead into the engine room. The engine is an Isuzu 35 with a PRM gearbox. 12v power is from the bank of four domestic batteries (120ah) and 230v is from the 2500w inverter or landline hook up. All the lights are LED. She is centrally heated by an Eberspacher diesel fired boiler to 3 radiators and the hot water is heated by the engine of the Eberspacher. The rear deck is covered by a small pramhood to keep the elements at bay. She is a really cosy boat, ready to go.
