This 2006 narrowboat is an absolute gem. One of few made by Paul Barber boat builders, she's a rare and reliable vessel with high quality steelwork and a robust build. At 60ft, there's plenty of space inside whilst still being able to navigate the majority of the waterways in the UK. Currently located on the Kennet & Avon canal, she's fully equipped for immediate live-aboard use or long-distance cruising. The engine is a classic 1968 Lister 3-cylinder. Known for their reliability and rhythmic sounds, this engine has been well maintained and provides a delightful cruising experience unmatched by modern engines. The diesel tank is 120 litres. I bought the boat in Gloucester and cruised the Southern half of the waterways to get down to Bath. I've been on the river Avon in summertime, towed other boats, and cruised against the current and never had any issues with the engine. Interiors & Living: - Open plan layout for bright, spacious interiors that maximise the space. - Galley kitchen featuring a Houdini ceiling hatch for natural light, Belfast sink, four ring gas hob, oven and grill. Plenty of storage and a beautiful waney edge wooden shelf above the counters. - Breakfast bar/table that can seat 3. - Portholes throughout for natural light as well as privacy. - Stay cosy year round with the Becton 7 multi-fuel stove, and a new dedicated gas/electric combi boiler for hot showers. - Fully equipped for life off-grid with solar set up (Victron system in place), WiFi, and an Inverter. - Features a shower and a self-built compost toilet, perfect for chemical-free continuous cruising. - Duck hatches in the living room and bedroom for maximum natural light (and duck-spotting). - Hatches on both front and back doors, meaning no hunching under canvasses. Lovely easy, large entrances with steps down into the boat. - Large front deck, spacious enough for breakfast/coffee in the sun, drying laundry, or bike storage. If circumstances were different, I would keep hold of this boat and live aboard for years to come. A much loved vessel & reluctant sale. Hopeful to pass her on to someone else who will take care of her and appreciate all the freedom and joy that life on the water has to offer. Bought from a couple who lived aboard for 15 years. Probably coming up for blacking in the next year or two, could potentially be combined with pre-purchase survey if the buyer wants to get DILLIGAF out of the water - dependent on boatyard availability.
