1986 Westerly Fulmar, twin keel, for sale This boat is as seen at the Southampton Boat Show, 2025 on the Westerly Owners Association Pontoon Berth No. M436. Now ashore for viewing at Hythe (Southampton) SC Westerly Fulmar, Xanté of Exe, built 1985 and launched 1986. Xanté is in excellent condition with a light and airy feel in the galley and featuring various updates since 2016. Well worth viewing to appreciate. Under her previous owner she won in the Dartmouth Open in several years. More recently, she has been used for cruising locally in the Solent and further afield on the East coast, the West country, the Channel Islands, the Normandy and the Brittany coasts. We have always found Xanté to be a comfortable, safe and quick vessel for cruising and the occasional passage race. Detailed Description Xante is a Westerly Fulmar 32 (twin keel version), designed by Ed Dubois and built by Westerly Marine in 1985, launched in 1986. A solidly constructed cruiser / sailing boat with a great performance, it is said to be one of the best sailing boats built by Westerly. We have certainly found this boat to be a quick and safe, comfortable boat for cruising. The interior has a neat and tidy feel. There are 6 berths, arranged as: a separate forward double berth cabin; a wide berth aft; 2 comfortable berths in the saloon – one single, and one of which converts from single to a comfortable double if required. The boat interior is arranged in two cabins providing a spacious dining area and kitchen area in the main galley, a bow cabin with double berth. There is a separate heads with toilet and basin. Clothes can be stored in 2 built-in wardrobes. Xanté is arranged for ease of sailing with a good set of sails, all necessary halyards, self-tailing winches and accessories in good working order. She was re-engined in 2018 with a Bukh 24hp ex-lifeboat diesel engine provided by Marine Enterprises Ltd, Dorchester (approx. 1000 hours date). This satisfactorily drives the boat at up to 6 kts through a Brunton Autoprop H20 self-feathering propellor. The propellor is particularly well suited to the various conditions for cruising, motor-sailing or racing.
