Accepting reasonable offers for Worcester. 37 ft hybrid electric conversion narrowboat. Project boat. My priorities shifted and I'm unable to dedicate enough attention to continue the project. Worcester is a ex-hire boat, all steel, cruiser stern, Colecraft design, originally built 1982. It was part of the College Cruisers fleet in Oxford. It went into private hands in the late 90s and used mostly for summer holidays. Converted to hybrid electric in the late noughties, one of the very first electric boats on the canals. I embarked into a full overhaul, the interiors have been fully stripped off. Redundant holes (old vents) recently sealed, stern drainages optimised, weed hatch raised for improved safety. Gas locker welded afresh, brand new stern floor boards. Fully blacked less than 6 month ago. Safety certificate (BSS) valid until Jan 2028. Hull survey from 2022, sides only, showed good thickness. In recent boatyard visit I've been recommended to do bottom overplating. Internal bottom plate repairs done as temporary measure. Courtesy readings of the base plate (not formal survey) taken when in water showed some thinning down to 3mm. The control box for electric drive was sent to a specialist a few months ago when it started working only in reverse. I was told it needs replacing. For this reason, there's no propulsion at the moment. Reach out for more info. Price negotiable.
