The first Super Seal to be built by G W Parker and Sons, and benefits from the improvements introduced by Parkers when they took over production from John Baker of Exmouth. She underwent a major refit in 2002 which included complete new rig, new cushions and upholstery and International Gelshield epoxy treatment below the waterline. We haven't raced her but in previous ownership she has a good racing record at club level (and also in the Round The Island Race), whilst retaining all the necessary cruising comforts. We have cruised her regularly between Fowey and Suffolk, sometimes wintering in Suffolk and sometimes in Salcombe. We have experienced winds in excess of 30 knots and can only praise how well she has performed in those testing conditions. We mostly sail her with just the two of us and have spent weeks at a time living on board. She has an excellent interior, with good levels of equipment, including 100 litre freshwater tank (new 2024), pumped hot and cold water to the galley (hot via calorifier from engine), CD stereo, LED lighting throughout. Jabsco marine toilet. In 2013 the hull was professionally re-sprayed Marlin Blue, using Awlgrip 2 pack. Still very smart and shiny. Beta 13.5hp diesel engine (1090 hours) serviced annually Consumption approximately ¾ litre per hour. (We’ve measured multiple times and got the same result) The engine starts on the button and runs very smoothly. Cruises nicely at 5 knots under power. We regularly averaged over 6 knots under sail especially with the spinnaker up. This Ron Holland design is quick and roomy below. 2 blade Gori folding prop. The Gori prop has an overdrive mode for efficiency. Volvo deep sea stern tube seal. Replaced 2019. 42 litre Vetus plastic fuel tank with electric fuel gauge. Harken 32 primary winches, with 2 x Lewmar 16, and 2 x Barton 8 winches on the coach roof. Sanders molded racing main and blade jib 2013. Lightly used and excellent condition. Not used in our ownership. Remains in excellent condition, stored in dry loft. Tri-radial laminate No1 and No2 headsails in Pentex. Collapsible winter storage cradle - requires maintenance work before using. Evangeline has been very well cared for, and wanted for very little in our ownership. Everything works as it should and she is a fast boat with a good inventory. Regularly sailed. She is well set up for single, or short handed, sailing. If you are looking for a fast, very well equipped, shoal draft cruiser that won’t need any serious expenditure for the foreseeable future please get in touch. She is about to come ashore for post winter maintenance to include antifoul, servicing seacocks and a general check over. Unless sold previously she will be going back on her pontoon mooring in Salcombe harbour where she can be viewed. We can either organise to bring her alongside the town for you or can organise the water taxi (I’m one of the skippers) to take you out to her mooring. You can take in the beautiful Salcombe harbour on your way. We will upload more pictures very shortly. Meanwhile, please do feel free to make contact. For more pictures of Evangeline under sail follow this link https://www.sailingscenes.co.uk/?search=Evangeline+ NB: These were taken just prior to our ownership.
